Citlally Romo

My name is Citlally Romo, and I hold a degree in Digital Media Journalism. I’ve always had a passion for the creative side of media, whether it’s storytelling through blogs, crafting engaging social media posts, producing videos, designing graphics, or using digital platforms to inform and inspire. Beyond the screen, I’ve also found purpose in serving my community.

While in college, I had the opportunity to work as a Community Health Worker at Alivio Medical Center. That experience opened my eyes to the essential role CHWs play in connecting individuals to healthcare, resources, and education. I found deep fulfillment in supporting others, especially those navigating barriers to access and information.

Now at ILCHWA, I serve as a CHW Case Manager. I assist individuals in registering for CHW certification trainings and support them throughout the process. I’m also part of the planning committee for our Annual Chicago Summit and help create content for our social media platforms to engage and uplift our CHW members.

My work bridges my two passions: digital media and community impact. I’m proud to be part of a team working to strengthen and support Illinois’ CHW workforce.
